Association of Friends and Sponsors of the Munster Tank Museum e.V.
The support association
Promote, shape & preserve
A museum like the Panzermuseum must constantly evolve in order to remain at the cutting edge of research. The support of a sponsoring association is therefore of the utmost importance.
The association supports the museum in three ways:
- Firstly, through suggestions and ideas that are brought to the museum from its ranks.
- Secondly, the association uses the contributions to support museum projects: in recent years, for example, media stations, the acquisition of exhibits, special exhibitions, the internship program and much more have been financially supported with funds from the association.
- Thirdly, the association organizes the work of the museum’s scientific advisory board.
Become a member of the association!
Support the museum with your suggestions and your annual contribution. By doing so, you shape the cultural landscape: help to ensure that modern military history in Germany becomes even better known and appeals to even more interested people. As a member you enjoy permanent free admission to the Panzermuseum!
Please send the completed membership form by fax to: +49 (0) 5192 / 130 99 99. You can also send it by e-mail.

We process personal data that we receive from you as part of your membership. In addition, we process personal data that we legitimately receive from third parties (e.g. authorities, offices, associations or insurance companies) insofar as this is necessary for the fulfillment of the membership.
Relevant personal data includes, in particular, personal details (name, address, gender and other contact details (e.g. telephone number or email address), date of birth), bank details and, if applicable, data in connection with participation in events (club trip or similar). Furthermore, in individual cases it may be necessary to record identity data on the basis of an official ID card.
In addition, this may also include data from log files for monitoring Internet and email usage (where permitted) and access to core IT systems.
We process your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR), the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and sector-specific data protection standards, statutes and regulations of associations, insofar as this is necessary in the context of membership administration.
Personal data (Art. 4 No. 2 EU GDPR) is processed for the establishment, implementation (contribution payments, use of club offers such as club trips or events) and termination of membership.
As an association, we are subject to various legal obligations arising from laws, statutes and membership regulations, such as requirements under tax laws. The purposes of processing include, among other things, measures to fulfill tax obligations.
Where necessary, we process and store your personal data for the duration of your membership. In addition, we are subject to various retention and documentation obligations, which may arise from the German Association Code (Vereinsgesetzbuch – VereinsG), the German Fiscal Code (Abgabenordnung – AO) or statutes and regulations, among others. The retention and documentation periods specified there are two to ten years. Finally, the storage period is also determined by the statutory limitation periods, which can be up to thirty years according to Sections 195 et seq. of the German Civil Code (BGB), for example, whereby the regular limitation period is three years.
As soon as the storage of the data is no longer required to carry out the membership and there are no statutory retention periods, your data will be deleted immediately.
You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. If you have given us your consent to process personal data for specific purposes, the lawfulness of this processing is based on your consent. Consent that has been given can be withdrawn at any time. This also applies to the revocation of declarations of consent. Please note that the revocation only takes effect for the future. Processing that took place before the revocation is not affected by this
As part of your membership, you only have to provide the personal data and bank details that are required for the admission and implementation of the membership or that we are obliged to collect by law or by statutes and regulations.
Without this data, we will generally have to refuse to implement the membership.
Within the association, those areas receive your data that need it to fulfill membership or legal obligations – this is usually the managing director.
Processors employed by us may also receive data for these purposes. They are contractually obliged to comply with the same data protection standards, may only process your personal data to the same extent and for the same purposes as we do and are subject to our instructions. These are companies in the categories of IT services, logistics and telecommunications.
The data is processed and backed up digitally. If the data set is stored in a cloud storage facility, the data controllers only use services that are GDPR-compliant (e.g. TCDP standard). This also applies to the means of data transfer (i.e. no forwarding via insecure email, etc.)
The data will not be passed on to other persons or institutions.
Should it be necessary to pass on information to recipients outside the association in special cases, it must first be ensured that we comply with the applicable data protection regulations. We may only pass on information about you if this is required by law, statutes or regulations on the basis of membership, if you have given your consent or if we are authorized to provide information.
