By entering the museum, you accept these regulations.
Immerse yourself in the fascinating history of tank technology.
This tour shows the exhibition before the new permanent exhibition is published. This makes it possible to take a look at the exhibits without large text panels. Further content from the exhibition will gradually be added to the tour.
From February 1, 2023, you will also be able to discover the many new contents of the newly created permanent exhibition with all your senses in the museum.

You can book guided tours of the museum during opening hours by calling +49 (0) 51 92 / 25 52 or by e-mail at any time. Please book guided tours at least 14 days in advance.
Guided tours are aimed at adults and children aged 12 and over. Unfortunately, children under the age of 12 cannot take part in these tours.
Guided tours are available for groups of up to 30 people and only by prior arrangement.
Groups of less than 10 people may be combined. This allows us to give other visitors the opportunity to take part in a guided tour.
A guided tour costs EUR 6 per person. The museum entrance fee must be added.
As a rule, a museum tour lasts 120 minutes.
An overview tour covers the history of tanks from 1916 to the present day. The tanks and military vehicles are viewed in their historical context, providing an overview from the First World War, through the Second World War, to the end of the Cold War and the Bundeswehr’s missions abroad.
English tours are not possible until further notice.
A personal tour guide system is used in the museum tour: The museum guide accompanies you through the exhibition and all visitors also receive a small device with headphones, which makes it easier to hear the museum guide. The volume can be adjusted individually and you can follow the tour at a sufficient distance from other visitors without missing anything.
The educational offers can be booked during opening hours with our museum educator Constanze Seifert-Hartz. Appointments should be requested at least 3 weeks in advance. She will be happy to answer any questions you may have!

Admission to the museum and participation in our educational programs is free of charge for pupils, students and their accompanying persons after registration.
The content can be adapted to the focus and learning objectives of your group.

The town of Munster is located in the Heidekreis district in the federal state of Lower Saxony.
If you would like to travel by train, please use the Munster/Ortze stop.
The approx. 1.5 km long footpath to the museum is signposted.
The Munster Touristik team will be happy to answer all your questions about accommodation and gastronomy.
The length of your visit will of course depend on your personal interests. In general, however, you can plan the following time for a visit to the German Tank Museum Munster:
Quick visit (approx. 1-2 hours): If you only want to see the main attractions and individual exhibits, you can walk through the museum in about 1 to 2 hours.
Thorough visit (approx. 3-4 hours): For a thorough visit, where you take time to study the exhibition panels and details about the individual tanks or our media guide, you should allow around 3 to 4 hours.
Detailed visit and guided tours (more than 4 hours): If you take a guided tour or our mediaguide and would like to gain more in-depth knowledge, your visit may take longer.
You can also use the day ticket to leave the museum for a break and continue your visit afterwards.
You can use a media guide free of charge in the museum. You can either borrow a device for a deposit or access the content on your own smartphone.

The wearing of anti-constitutional symbols or racist slogans is not tolerated in the Panzermuseum; in the event of non-compliance, we will exercise our domiciliary rights.
Dogs and other animals may not be taken into the exhibition. However, they can wait in the forecourt. Therapy dogs and assistance dogs for the disabled are exempt from this rule. Please do not leave your dogs in the car in extreme temperatures.
Smoking is prohibited in all exhibition halls and the cafeteria; this also applies to e-cigarettes.
Please do not eat or drink in the exhibition halls.
Please do not climb onto and/or into our exhibits. Outside you will find a tank that you are allowed to climb on and into.
The Tank Museum is barrier-free for people with reduced mobility.
The museum is fully accessible for visitors with baby carriages.
We can provide you with wheelchairs free of charge for the duration of your visit.
Folding stools can also be borrowed. These stable, lightweight and foldable seating aids can also be used as crutches.
In our media guide you will find a guided tour of the museum in sign language.
Photography and filming for private purposes is permitted.
Recordings of any kind for commercial and/or scientific purposes are only permitted with written authorization, as is the sale of videos, CDs, etc. Any sale beyond this is illegal and will be prosecuted.
If you would like to make such recordings, please send us an e-mail in advance.
